Quick update on how Queensland FC has been going with recent games:

UMNO Cup- 4th. (Sangkut semi on penalties). Highlights:

1) Hanya bolos 1 gol sepanjang tournament, after 6 games in total. Well done guys!
2) Kalah dengan Carlton buat kali kelima after losing out on penalties. I hate Carlton, grrr.. (Personal battle since 2007). Tapi tiap kali lawan diorang sure sengit punya. Best2.
3) Melbourne is cold and windy. While the Melbournians are used to it, you can see the Queenslanders berkumpul ramai2 setempat, share haba masing2. Even goal kicks boomerang backwards, bak kata Hez, "WoooOOOooo!!!" everytime that happens.
4) Gol2 penting dijaringkan oleh Wan(1), Abu(1), Black(1). Ole2 penting dijaringkan oleh Zack (3), Zaril (3) and Apit (1). Ole menang, 7-3. Viva la joga bonito.

Overall, sangat fun and superb team bonding.

Friendly - Indo. Venue: Munro Field. Hari: Sabtu. Time: 12.00 pm

1) Menang 4-1. You've got to admit the extra burst of energy created when we play against them. Biasalah, sibling rivalry.
2) Overall a good performance by Queensland FC, great crowd of supporters and superb linesmanship by you-know-who. TEPUK!!!!!!!!!!!
3) Kesempatan ini diambil untuk put in the new players and give them some game time. Overall, it was a good outcome, seemed that they do appreciate the chances given.
4) Summary of goals:

1-0 Penalty. Classic situation - Defender nak clear tak kena, panik2 lalu terkena tangan. Saudara Wan Mell mengharumkan negara Malaysia (dan negeri Sarawak) dengan spot kicknya yang dituju kemas ke kiri atas gol. Too good.

2-0 Set piece. From a freekick, the ball got cleared out. Sampai ke kaki Wan. Lalu beliau memberikan hantaran ke dalam yang tepat kepada saudara Naqi Ramli yang dengan selambanya mem'beat' the offside trap. Keeper well out of position, all he had to do was guide the ball home with his head.

3-0 Own goal. Jovy Low menerima bola di wing kiri. Memberikan sebuah cross yang lazat, terlalu lazat sehingga defender Indo unluckily headed the ball into his own net. Nice one Jovy, I'll still give you your 3 points for assist.

3-1 Silly goal. After a flawless performance as a linesman, I failed to repeat the act when I stuffed up a routine defender-block-striker-for-keeper-catch move. Midfield Indo mengepam long ball belakang kepala, I was chasing the ball and suddenly lost sight due to the sunray (Excuses!) Tau2 je, bola tu dah ter'bounce' off lututku lalu Umar telah di'wrong-footed'kan oleh the change of angle. The Indo striker finished it off easily. Sorry guys.

4-1 Saudara Nazmi Othman a.k.a Jack Black mengena! Satu detik panik di barisan pertahanan Indonesia menyebabkan mereka hilang possession. Black dengan rakusnya meragut bola tersebut lalu merembat kencang ke kiri bawah gol. Game over with 5 minutes to go.

Overall, solid performance. As we know, friendlies are seldom a good predictor of actual tournament results. But it's always nice to win, especially when it involves a neighbourly rivalry. Hopefully boleh merapatkan hubungan di antara dua negara ini.
